Hello lovely people, how are you all?
Today I will show you what I did by pure coincidence for my baby. One day I was making her snack and cooking pear puree. I usually do a whole batch of puree and freeze them in ice cubes. I am a working mum and for nothing on earth I will give them processed baby food. So this is my way to save time… so coming back to my pear story:
I gave her pear puree for her snack and she refused to eat as on that day; she was teething and quite uncomforable. So in those situations, I rather she has a bottle of milk. Then when it came for dinner, I still had my untouched pear puree! I was heating up her butterbut (au bain marie).
Recipe for the butternut squash: Peel & Cut in small pieces – steam for 15-20 minutes and you can freeze the rest. I always keep those handy in case I got back home late from work.
Now for the butternut/pear recipe, see the easy steps:
- Cut the butternut in small pieces for easy cooking. Prepare also the pear but cutting them in same size as butternut
- Steam the butternut for 15 minutes. You can also cook on stove by covering the butternut with water and cooking on low flame.
- After 15 minutes, add the cut pear to the butternut for 5 minutes.
- Blend it all in a blender or mash with a spoon to the consistency that you need for your child.
- Puree Butternut/Pear is READY!!
What do you think of this mixture vegetable and fruit?
