Pressure cook the black lentils and the calebasse with sufficient water.
In a seperate pan, put some oil, chopped onion and ginger/garlic paste. Once the onion becomes translucent, add chopped tomato and the thyme leaves. Allow to cook for 5-10 minutes.
Once the tomato sauce is ready, add to the cooked lentils. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
Blend everything to the consistency that you prefer.
Serve with boiled eggs or without for vegetarians.
