Kids Moong & Rice Khichdi with potatoes

  1. This is how the green split moong dal looks like.
  2. Prepare the dal by washing several times and allow to soak for 30 mins together with the rice for faster cooking. Cut the potatoes in chunks.
  3. Put in pressure cooker with sufficient water and allow to whistle 3-4 times.
  4. In a small pan or tadka pan, put some oil and add the cumin seeds and the cardamom pods. The cumin seeds will start popping.
  5. Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and the cut tomato. Allow the different ingredients to cook and get all the lovely flavors together.
  6. Mix the onion/tomato paste to the cooked dal and rice. Combine both.
  7. Your Khichdi is ready! 🙂
